I read an entire damn book today. Lincoln in the Bardo by Gearoge Saunders. I actually got the book the year it came out, way back in 2017, but I hadn't touched it until today and to be honest I'm glad I didn't read it 7 years ago. It's a really good book, but it's very unorthodox stylistically; the entire book technically has no narrator, and consists either of quotes from characters who themselves narrate what happens, or of quotes from historical texts (some or all of which could be fictional) that provide context as to what's happening. It really works and is really effective and I really don't think 17 year old me would have "gotten" it. I mean, I did read Dune when I was even younger than that, but I didn't really like absorb a bunch of that book even though I did like it? But Lincoln in the Bardo is really good.

I also got Helldivers 2 today. Haven't played it a ton yet, just one solo mission, but it seems fun. Just don't wanna spend a ton of time on it when it's already pretty late, I don't want to get into the habit of staying up to/past midnight. I do have actual friends to play with though, which is good.
